Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and protected by The Exe Estuary and surrounding wetlands being deemed by English Nature a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Protected Area (SPA), Turf is one of the few pubs in the country that cannot be accessed by car. Walking, cycling and by boat are the means employed. There are also 2 ferries from Topsham and one that operates along the Canal from Double Locks. For places to park and directions see map.

The pub enjoys a huge beer garden bordered by the Exe Estuary on one side and Turf Locks on the other. There is a children's play area and 2 large outdoor BBQ's which can be hired.
Charcombes Lounges also has an authorised extended bar license until midnight Sunday to Thursdays and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays - the ideal place to book your private party (birthdays, anniversarys, engagements etc). We have our own dance floor, so do come and speak to us to see how we can help.

Charcombes Lounge provides a range of light snacks, full menu and daily specials, where you can enjoy an early breakfast, a hearty lunch or a delicious home cooked evening meal.

Lunches are served everyday (including a fantastic roast on Sundays!). Evening meals are served on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.

Charcombes Lounge provides the ideal venue to relax, enjoy a drink and some food and meet up with friends. Non-golfers are most welcome.

New Leaf Café is run by qualified staff and offers support and training to service users in a Cafeteria environment.

A Friday coffee shop offers homemade soups, salads, coffee and cakes.

Working in partnership with Westbank League of Friends (Healthy Living Centre) the café offers opportunities in menu design, food preparation and cooking, waiting tables and kitchen porter duties.

The café uses Food for Mood and healthy eating principles providing meals for members of the local community.
